Aegean's real olive oil Thales owes its name to the famous philosopher who finds the meaning of life in search of the facts. The production has been started in the olive oil factory which has been put into operation by Dr. Tahsin Kayayurt in Belevi in 1965. Kayayurt Family, which had contributed to the economy of the region significantly with its investments in agriculture sector has continued for many years the work with this mission. Today, the total olive oil production capacity of the family has reached 3,600 tons annually with the inclusion of IMO-certified special organic olive oil. It continues in its investments and the production of "genuine olive oil" with its registered brands of Thales, Minoan and Kayayurt in its own olive groves reaching about 920,000 square-meters.
